Brazilian Student Association (BRASA)’s new leadership

We are proud to introduce the new Brazilian Student Association (BRASA) leadership at Ohio State (2020-2021). We also want to thank former president, Luana Lamberti, who will focus on her PhD in the Department of Spanish and Portuguese, and former treasurer, Vanessa Hart, as she graduates from her undergraduate program in communications.

Giovanna Tavares Decenzi served as vice president (2019-2020) and will step up into the role of president. She began her studies at Kent State University, where she was the vice president and president of the International Student Council and International Women’s Group, respectively. She was also the event coordinator of the Brazilian Organization at Kent State. Last year, she transferred to Ohio State and is studying marketing with a minor in organizational performance. Decenzi is also a member of Alpha Chi Omega on campus.

Luiza Souza Corrêa will serve as vice-president. She is currently pursuing a graduate degree in the Department of Design. She has been very active within BRASA since she joined the university, participating in and organizing events and meetings, and helping recruit new members. She is interested in visual communication and photography.

Sophia Lenhart, a second-year undergraduate Portuguese major, will serve as treasurer. She spent the spring semester of 2019 at the University of Campinas, studying Portuguese and environmental science. She plans to continue to a graduate program in law, wanting to focus on immigration rights and environmental policy.
