Ohio State announces Together As Buckeyes emergency grants program

Student support will help mitigate financial impacts from the COVID-19 pandemic

The Ohio State University has launched a new emergency grants program to help students facing financial challenges caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Together As Buckeyes emergency grants program, funded primarily by the federal Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security (CARES) Act, is available to all eligible students — undergraduate, graduate and professional — through the Student Financial Aid office. The size of these grants will vary based on each student’s circumstances.

To apply for a grant, students need to complete a one-page Emergency Request form and provide any supporting documentation. The Office of Student Financial Aid will process applications after determining eligibility based on each student’s circumstances and guidance from the U.S. Department of Education.

“This program will assist students who are having difficulty with living expenses or facing other unexpected financial challenges related to the disruption of campus operations due to this pandemic,” said President Michael V. Drake in an email to students.

The university launched a new webpage with details on the Together As Buckeyes emergency grants and other university programs that provide financial support to students. It’s part of a university-wide effort to aid students affected by the pandemic.
