All Summer Education Abroad Programs Canceled

oval seal 3020As Ohio State continues to monitor the global outbreak of COVID-19 and take appropriate steps to ensure the health and well-being of the campus community, the university has canceled all university-sponsored summer education abroad programs.

Ohio State provides regular updates and guidance for students, faculty and staff relating to international travel and is aware that COVID-19 protocols will cause disruption, but the risk of not acting outweighs the inconvenience of these measures.

Students who had been awarded a scholarship to study abroad during summer term 2020 through the Office of International Affairs, will be able to defer the scholarship for future use on a university-sponsored education abroad program. Students awarded scholarships for summer programs should contact the scholarship source directly to determine whether or not they can defer or use it on a future program.

Students will not be charged cancellation fees and will be reimbursed for nonrefundable costs. Find answers to frequently asked questions.

If education abroad students have questions or need to speak with an education abroad specialist, please call 614-292-6101 or email abroadadvisor@osu.edu.

Additional guidance about COVID-19 can be found on the websites of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the World Health Organization and the Wexner Medical Center. Information on travel alerts through the Office of International Affairs can be viewed at oia.osu.edu.
