Ohio State Welcomes German Fulbright Students to Campus

German Fulbright Students on campus for seminarThe Ohio State University welcomes 20 Fulbright students from Germany for a three-week seminar on diversity and inclusion in education. The seminar will provide the German master of education students with an understanding of political, historical, cultural, and social issues that inform pedagogies for equity, diversity, special education, and inclusion in the United States education system. The seminar is administered by the College of Education and Human Ecology, the Office of Diversity and Inclusion and the Office of International Affairs.

The students will gain an understanding of the political, historical, cultural and social issues that inform pedagogies for equity, diversity, special education, and inclusion in the U.S. educational system. The Fulbright seminar participants will reflect reflect on experiential activities and develop a plan of implementation for teaching practices for equity, diversity, and inclusion based on the workshops, school site visits, and experiences in Columbus.

Francis Troyan, assistant professor, Department of Teaching and Learning in the College of Education and Human Ecology is the faculty lead for the seminar. The Fulbright participants will be on campus from March 30 - April 20, 2019.
