Taif University Delegation Visits Ohio State

Taif University President Husam Zaman met with Ohio State President Michael V. DrakeA delegation of faculty and deans from Taif University in Saudia Arabia visited The Ohio State University and met with campus leaders on October 2, 2018. Taif University President Husam Zaman met with Ohio State President Michael V. Drake and Provost W. Randy Smith to discuss shared interests in developing the teaching capacity of faculty. During the day on campus, the visitors learned about how Ohio State provides students access to online education, offers services to support all types of learners and creates the opportunity for success through student life initiatives.

Robert Griffiths spoke with the delegation about the Office of Distance Education and eLearning. John Wanzer and Shannon Peltier discussed how the Office of Academic Advising services student needs. The visitors from Taif learned about the Office of Student Life Disability Services in an meeting with Lois Harris and Eddie Bowles. Kay Wolfe spoke with the delegation about the role of the Office of Academic Affairs on campus.

Taif University delegation visits Ohio StateIn addition to President Saman, the delegation included vice presidents and deans: Abdul Rahman A. Alasmari, Majed AlRobaian, Awad Aljuaid, Jehad F. Al Amri, Mansoor S. Almalki, Rana Ghazi Zaini and Eman Alzahrani.

The delegation is also visiting Georgetown University, University of Maryland Baltimore County, Johns Hopkins University, Miami University, Oxford and Harrisburg University during their time in the United States.
