Ohio State Associate Professor and Neurosurgeon Daniel Prevedello, MD presented at this year’s VIII Rhinology International Congress, which took place in São Paulo April 28 – 30.

Dr. Prevedello is one of just a few neurosurgeons in the world who is trained in minimally invasive approaches like Endoscopic Endonasal Approach and endoscopic brain surgery and has helped pioneer the technology and techniques used at Ohio State. He is originally from Brazil and received his medical degree from the Universidade Federal do Paraná (Curitiba, Paraná, Brazil).

More than 1,400 people from all over the world including Japan, Australia, Europe, United States, Mexico and Latin America attended this year’s congress. Dr. Prevedello gave 11 presentations on skull base surgery through the nose.

The Ohio State Brazil Gateway has supported Dr. Prevedello and his research by connecting him with others that have the same research interests as Dr. Prevedello.

“The Brazil Gateway has been the center of several researches promoting collaborations between important Brazilian universities, research entities and Ohio State,” said Dr. Prevedello.

Dr. Prevedello hopes that his presence at Ohio State is just the beginning of further collaboration fostering science, medicine and neurosurgery.
