Congratulations to Graduating Class of 2016

International Affairs Graduating Seniors 2016Congratulations to the graduating seniors who have worked at the Office of International Affairs. Your commitment, hard work and dedication to advancing internationalization at Ohio State is greatly appreciated.

Jessica Bachman
Hometown: Wauseon, Ohio
Major: International Relations and Communications
Minor: French and History
While a student, Jessica worked as an International Orientation Leader, and studied abroad in Montpelier, France. After graduation, she will be researching health care access in the Washington D.C./Baltimore area, and pursuing an advanced degree in public health.

Iris Cao
Hometown: Xuzhou, China Major: Marketing and Logistics Management
Minor: Organizational Communication
As a student, Iris was a member of Global Leadership Initiative, and served on the executive board as vice president of communications and vice president of public relations. She was also an Orientation Leader, and worked as a staff interpreter and student volunteer at Pre-departure Orientation in China. Iris will pursue a Masters of Education in Student Affairs at the University of California, Los Angeles after graduation.

Erik Gaarder
Hometown: Carmel, New York
Major: International Studies and Italian
Erik interned for the Center for Latin American Studies and served as student assistant for International Students and Scholars. He studied abroad during the summer of 2014 to Italy with the Siena Italian Studies program. After graduation Erik plans to pursue a full time career, travel, adopt a puppy and work toward earning a Master’s degree.

Seniors - Spring 2016Yuan He
Hometown: Guang Zhou, China
Major: Accounting and Finance
Yuan worked as an International Orientation Leader and Peer Advisor during the summers of her sophomore and junior year. She also served as 2015 Thanksgiving Dinner co-chair of year 2015. Yuan studied abroad May 2015 with the Berlin Then and Now: People, Places and Experiences program. After graduation she plans to travel to the West Coast and eventually move to New York City.

Zhiping Jin
Hometown: Nanjing, China
Major: Finance and Logistics
Minor: Psychology
During undergrad, Zhiping worked as an Orientation Leader. After graduation, she plans to pursue a career with PNC in Philadelphia, PA as a foreign exchange analyst.

Ayush Kalani
Hometown: Jaipur, India
Major: Computer Science and Engineering
Ayush served as an Orientation Leader, as well as an International Peer Advisor for the Office of International Affairs. After graduation he will join JP Morgan Chase as an application developer.

Zana Karabatak
Hometown: Centerville, Ohio
Major: Linguistics and French
Zana worked as an orientation leader, as well as a student assistant. In spring 2015, she studied abroad at the Sorbonne in Paris, France. Upon graduation, Zana will head to Turkey to teach English on a Fulbright scholarship. After that she will continue her education at New York University to pursue her Master's in foreign language education.

Jessica Parker
Hometown: Lyndhurst, Ohio Major: French and Security and Intelligence
Jessica worked for the Department of East Asian Studies. During her undergraduate career she studied abroad in 2013 with the China Global May program and again in 2014 with the Brazil Global May program. After graduation, she plans to attend St. Louis University to attain a Master’s in health administration.

Allyson Sabo
Hometown: Findlay, Ohio
Major: International Studies with a specialization in World Economy and Business
Minor: Environmental Science
Allyson studied abroad during spring 2015 in England with the American International University. She served as lead intern for the Middle East Studies Center. Upon graduating, Allyson hopes to pursue work for a multinational corporation that takes her all over the world.

Amanda Stefanik
Hometown: Louisville, Ohio
Major: Strategic Communication
Minor: Spanish
Amanda spent her time in the Office of International Affairs as a communications intern, as well as student chair for Taste of OSU. During her freshman year, she traveled abroad with the British Invasion program to England. Upon graduating, Amanda plans to pursue a career in public relations.

Kerry Ulm
Hometown: Cincinnati, Ohio
Major: International Studies
Minors: French, Economics and Creative Writing
Kerry served as an Orientation Leader for the Office of International Affairs. During 2012, she traveled to England with the London Honors program, and studied abroad once more during spring 2015 with the Institut Catholique de Paris in France. In autumn 2016, Kerry begins a Master’s creative writing program at either the University College Dublin or Trinity College Dublin. She plans to eventually pursue a PhD in international studies and become a professor.
