Brazil Gateway initiates new international funding cohort

The Ohio State Brazil Gateway co-hosted a landmark event at the Consulate General of Switzerland in São Paulo that brought together representatives from international funding agencies as well as universities from across the globe.

Co-organized with the University of St. Gallen Institute of Management Latin America and the University of Münster Brazil Centre, the meeting included representation from France, Germany, United Kingdom, United States, and European Union.

Insightful discussions focused on strengthening international collaborations and enhancing academic opportunities. Key areas included:

  • International partnerships
  • Faculty and student mobility
  • Research opportunities
  • Funding instruments available in Brazil
  • Communications and marketing strategies

“It is significant that Ohio State is one of the founding members of this cohort that will certainly grow into a relevant initiative in Brazilian science and higher education,” said Jane K. Aparecido, director, Brazil Gateway.

The gathering marked a noteworthy step in advancing a shared mission, that not only strengthens international partnerships but also leads the way for impactful joint research initiatives.
