Ohio State is in the process of revising websites and program materials to accurately reflect compliance with the law. While this work occurs, language referencing protected class status or other activities prohibited by Ohio Senate Bill 1 may still appear in some places. However, all programs and activities are being administered in compliance with federal and state law.

H-1B Fees

Departments are required to pay all H-1B fees ranging from $1,960 to $5,265. The fee total depends on the type of H-1B case and choice of processing at U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). All H-1B cases, including H-1B extensions, require the $460 USCIS fee and the Office of International Affairs $1,500 fee. New H-1B cases to Ohio State must pay the $500 anti-fraud fee. To expedite processing at USCIS, there is an additional optional fee of $2,805.

  • $460 – All cases (USCIS fee)
  • $1,500 – All cases (Office of International Affairs fee)
  • $500 – All new Ohio State H-1B cases (Department of Homeland Security Anti-Fraud fee)
  • $2,805 – Optional Premium Processing Fee (USCIS)

The employing department must submit a requisition for all the fees when submitting the H-1B case to the Office of International Affairs through HR Talent Immigration. The Office of International Affairs then requests the checks from the appropriate government agencies. More details are in the H-1B Instructions and Processing Procedures for Department  instructions.
