The Ohio State University is now accepting applications for the online Global Teacher Seminar "Human experiences: accounts from across the Globe" for teachers in any state. Pre-service teachers are strongly encouraged to apply.
This online summer seminar for K-14 educators will deepen into exploring the United Nation’s Sustainability Goals, and their relevance in regards to the UN's 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. The seminar will explore human accounts on cross-cutting topics that will address one or multiple Sustainable Development Goals from a global perspective. Throughout the seminar, participants will hear from guest experts who will present regional case studies to provide comparative views from different latitudes and invite reflection on how those matters can be related to the Sustainable Development Goals.
Benefits: Teachers will receive a certificate of completion with 20 contact hours and 2 CEUs after completing all aspects (orientation, summer seminar, and follow-up), receive curriculum resources, and a $100 stipend for completing a lesson plan by August 9. The seminar is open to teachers, including pre-service teachers, and administrators and is free of charge.
Please contact Julio Beltrán, CLAS outreach coordinator, at beltran.75@osu.edu for more information.
The seminar is organized by the Center for Latin American Studies (CLAS), in partnership with the Center for African Studies (CAS), Center for Slavic, East European and Eurasian Studies (CSEEES), East Asian Studies Center Center (EASC), and the Middle East Studies Center (MESC), with support from the U.S. Department of Education Title VI Grants.
