Description

The Feminisms in the Americas Symposium, a joint initiative of the FREE Center and the Center for Latin American Studies, brings together scholars, artists, and activists for an interdisciplinary dialogue about feminist thought and practice across the Americas.  

The event is free and open to the public. Registration is required.

4:30 p.m.: Symposium Welcome Reception featuring artists HG Morrison, Andrea Armijos Echeverría, and Cat Ramos 

Friday, April 11

9 a.m.: Light breakfast 
9:30 a.m.: Tracing Feminist Networks and Activism Across the Americas 
Talks by Lina-Maria Murillo and Claudia Cabello Hutt, moderated by Mytheli Sreenivas and Alyssa Bedrosian 
12:00 p.m.: Teaching Transnational Feminisms: A Conversation Around Pedagogy 
A roundtable discussion with Lina-Maria Murillo, Claudia Cabello Hutt, and Guisela Latorre 
(includes catered lunch)
