Day of the Dead

Date
November 1, 2024 | 5:00 - 7:00 pm
Location
Wexner Center for the Arts
Description

Join the Wexner Center for the Arts and the Center for Latin American Studies to celebrate Día de los muertos!

The programing will include an exciting and diverse set of activities: we will start the evening with a book launch for local artist Rafael Rosado at the Wexner Bookstore. The graphic novel titled Call Me Iggy (2024) tells the story of Ignacio “Iggy” García an Ohio-born Colombian American teen, searching for his place in his family, his school, his community, and ultimately his country.

The event will follow with community conversations about our “muertos” while approaching the altar with personal ofrendas along with fresh flowers. After ofrendas, attendants are invited to enjoy tamales, pupusas and hot chocolate with a limited-edition 2024 calavera poetry book for all ages and a mini-comic making station guided by local artist Anthony Pomales!

All are welcome to celebrate departed loved ones and participate in this Latinx spiritual tradition.
