December 11, 2018 – Ohio State is aware of an ongoing incident originating at Place Kléber in Strasbourg, France. Ohio State has one known student enrolled in an exchange program in Strasbourg. The university contacted the student and affirmed the student was not at the scene of the incident. All travelers are advised to refrain from travel to Place Kléber and to minimize additional movement in Strasbourg. They are advised to monitor local media and updates from authorities concerning resumption of normal activity.

May 26, 2018 - Ohio State is monitoring the nationwide strikes by the union representing commercial truckers in Brazil. The strike is having localized impact on intercity transit and the distribution of resources in country. At present, Ohio State program itineraries in Brazil are continuing as planned. Ohio State will continue to monitor the strike in Brazil through the advice of the Department of State, the Overseas Security Advisory Council, the university's security providers and our local contacts on the ground including the Ohio State Brazil Gateway in Sao Paulo.
