Global Health & Safety

Pre-Departure Health and Medicine

Centers for Disease Control and Prevention

Travelers should review the health information contained on the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) website for each country they plan to visit and discuss any concerns with their doctor or a travel medical professional.

International Travel Consultation, Immunizations and Vaccinations

Travelers should schedule a travel medical consultation with a health care professional well in advance of traveling abroad to obtain the necessary immunizations, vaccinations, and prophylactic medicines. It is best to schedule an appointment a minimum of three months in advance of your travel date as some immunizations require a series of appointments and many prophylactic medicines must be started prior to travel to be effective.

COVID-19 Vaccination and Testing Requirements

Countries may require individual travelers to demonstrate proof of full vaccination against COVID-19 and a pre-travel negative test result. Requirements vary between countries and rapid changes are frequently implemented. Travelers should refer to the U.S. Embassy COVID-19 Country Specific Information pages for current requirements.
