This session will be a dialogue among representatives from key funding agencies that actively invest in global one health/global public health initiatives including Peter Kilmarx, MD, FACP, FIDSA, of the U.S. National Institutes of Health (NIH), Kristen MacNaughtan, MS, from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Ermias Belay, MD, of the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and Amanda McClelland, RN, MPHTM, of Resolve to Save Lives. Panelists will discuss topics such as current and anticipated funding priorities relating to global one health, pandemic preparedness, and prevention/mitigation strategies relating to global public health crises. These plenary talks are part of GOHi’s celebration honoring 10 years of activities and impact in applied research, education, and outreach to build One Health capacity worldwide. This session is a dialogue among the Ohio State Deans of Veterinary Medicine, Medicine, Fisher College of Business, the College of Food, Agricultural, and Environmental Sciences (CFAES) and the College of Education and Human Ecology. Together, they discuss their college’s strategic plans, highlighting successful GOHi partnerships and activities that have taken place since its inception, and elaborating on the successes (and challenges) of cross-disciplinary collaboration to improve health outcomes.
