Abby Shaffer, a marketing major in the Fisher College of Business, studied abroad on a Fisher exchange at the Alliance Manchester Business School in spring 2020.

Studying abroad was an easy decision for me. I love to travel and visit new places, but I've never stay somewhere long enough to fully immerse myself in the culture. Even with the COVID pandemic, I wouldn't trade my study abroad experience for anything. The two months I spent in Manchester, England were memorable and full of personal growth.

Adjusting to classes was easier than expected and my UK classmates were so fun to work with. Exploring the different areas of Manchester was always an adventure. My favorite memory was going to Old Trafford for a game with all my friends. I grew up watching Manchester United, so seeing them play in person was a dream come true. It's one of the reasons I chose Manchester for my study abroad!
