Ohio State connects with admitted students in India

More than 450 students across India received admission notifications to Ohio State for the fall semester of 2022. The Office of Student Academic Success, in collaboration with the India Gateway, organized a virtual information session for the admitted students from India and South Asian neighbors on April 3.

Hosted by Marco Chavez, associate director, Undergraduate Admissions, the session featured university representatives Amy Hummel and Daniella Avila and Vinod Rani from the India Gateway office providing an overview of Ohio State, campus life, jobs on campus, housing, First-Year Experience (FYE) program, student organizations, visa processes, General Education curriculum, and more.

Sharing their availability as an in-country resource, the India Gateway also connected with admitted students to apprise them of Ohio State’s global presence and services. The India Gateway addressed any queries or concerns as students finalize their decision of where to attend college. India Alumni club leaders provided another resource by sharing their first-hand experiences as Buckeyes with interested students and parents.

The India Gateway also plans to host a session for the admitted students as they move ahead with accepting the offer following the next steps until their departure.
