Congratulations, Chengdu Alumni Club!

The Chengdu Alumni Club is officially chartered under the Ohio State Alumni Association, and a launching ceremony was held on Saturday, October 16. 

Zhijian Zhao (2014) was elected alumni club president, and the other board members include Vice-President Jiaxing Cheng (2017), Treasurer Yi Li (2015) and Secretary Shen He (2015).

The event was held at a tea house in Chengdu with around 30 attendees. This is a very diverse and dynamic community that young alumni are from all industries, including real estate, manufacturing, banking, risk investment, construction and others. 

The board members also invited two senior alumni, Sun Weiguo and Pu Ming, as speakers to share their own Buckeye story. Sun graduated from Ohio State with a PhD in atomic and molecular physics. He was former President of Xihua University and retired as former Vice President of Sichuan University, which one of the most renowned universities in the southwest China. 

Pu graduated from Ohio State with a PhD in actuarial mathematics and is now the associate dean of the School of Insurance at Southwestern University of Finance and Economics. Sun and Pu shared their education and life journey with young alumni and also expressed their best wishes to the attendees.
