Changing Paradigms in Infectious Diseases

The Ohio State University continued building its partnership with the Nanavati Super Specialty Hospital when it collaborated to present the Changing Paradigms in Infectious Diseases conference on November 27, 2019. This was a continuing education medical program, which was initiated by Abhay Satoskar, vice chair and associate professor in the Department of Experimental Pathology at Ohio State, and N. C. Joshi, academic course director from the Nanavati Super Specialty Hospital.

The conference held at the Nanavati Super Speciality Hospital auditorium hosted 110 participants and featured 16 speakers. The four sessions focused on critical areas including maternal care and neonatal infections, changing modalities in HIV and tuberculosis treatments, newer vaccines in tropical diseases and challenges in maternal health. Panel discussions allowed thought-provoking conversation and expert faculty speakers to share their insights on the topics.

Two Ohio State faculty from the College of Medicine including Abhay Satoskar and Rajendar Deora, associate professor in the Department of Microbial Infection and Immunity, were invited speakers.
