2020 AUCA Undergraduate Virtual Recruitments Events

Due to the COVID-19, the American University China Association (AUCA) organized a series of virtual recruitment events in September.

Over 40 universities and institutions attended and more than 30 high schools from across China joined to support the events. The China Gateway hosted an individual information session on  September 9 and attended the college fair September 19-20.

In partnership with international undergraduate admissions, the China Gateway hosted a virtual information session about the latest policies on undergraduate admission. Frances Zhang, vice principal of WSLA Shanghai Academy joined the information session as a guest speaker to discuss Ohio State international recruitment in the current environment. Nearly 100 participants joined the virtual information session.

During the two-day college fair, more than 30 local prospective students and parents stopped by Ohio State’s virtual booth, watched the presentation video and asked questions about majors, campus life, academic and career opportunities that Ohio State could provide. Staff from the China Gateway answered questions virtually and hosted several one-on-one video consultations.

On September 18, the AUCA International Education Forum was hosted online and discussed global education in the new realities. The China Gateway attended the forum, and Phoebe You, senior director of the China Gateway, hosted the forum.
