Apply to be a Global Ambassador

The Office of International Affairs is seeking both American and international students to volunteer as Global Ambassadors. Global Ambassadors are a diverse team of students committed to promoting cultural exchange at The Ohio State University. As volunteers with the Office of International Affairs, Global Ambassadors demonstrate a commitment to the mission of the Office of International Affairs, which seeks the engagement of students, staff and faculty in the global Ohio State community.


  • Ohio State student in good academic standing
  • Committed to cross-cultural exchange
  • Open-minded and willing to learn about other cultures
  • Able to take initiative and work well with others
  • Previous language or travel experience is great but definitely not required


  • Attend orientation session and monthly planning meetings (First Tuesday of every month at 7:30 p.m.)
  • Attend at least half of Global Engagement Night meetings (every Tuesday at 6 p.m.)
  • Coordinate at least two events per semester with other Global Ambassadors on one of four committees: Social, Sports and Recreation, Film, and Community Service
  • Assist with other Office of International Affairs events as needed
