Pi Delta Psi - Lion Dance

Pi Delta Psi is the only Asian cultural fraternity in the state of Ohio that exists to promote Asian culture and advance Asian American issues. Lion dancing is originally a Chinese tradition performed during the Lunar New Year to keep away bad luck. It takes two people to become the lion, and tempo is kept by a drummer and cymbalist. A fifth performer sometimes makes an appearance in more traditional renditions.

Recorded at Taste of OSU on Friday, January 29, 2010 at The Ohio State University by Office of International Affairs videographer Victor van Buchem.
