Steps Towards Internationalizing Students' Learning Experience

AIEA"Steps Towards Internationalizing Students' Learning Experience" was a panel presentation at the Association of International Education Administrators 2012 Annual Conference in Washington D.C. on Tuesday, February 21. William I. Brustein (The Ohio State University) served as chair and discussant. Panel presentations were delivered by Dieter Wanner (The Ohio State University) and Esther Gottlieb (The Ohio State University), Hilary Landorf (Florida International University) and Jonathan Gordon (Georgia Institute of Technology).

"Steps Towards Internationalizing Students' Learning Experience" explores internationalization programs at three different types of institutions.

  1. Producing globally-competent graduates has become part of the core mission of higher education institutions.
  2. Internationalizing the student learning experience has moved universities to reform general education and offer new programs.
  3. Examples of implementation plans and evaluation of results may promote borrowing and transferring of policies and programs so institutions can collaborate.
