In the artist's own words: “The French are well known for their passion for food, impeccable culinary taste, meticulous effort in pastry making, and world-class cuisine. Everything was freshly made in this charming bakery. I could immediately tell how much love and effort was put into the food. Not only does French food taste delicious, but it is also presented beautifully. These fresh peach marzipan desserts represent this aspect of the culture. Aesthetics and taste go together. Each individual marzipan was treated with such care and attention, as they were all colored exquisitely with little green leafs placed on top of each one.”
