Nikhil Tambe has decided to step down as director of the India Gateway to pursue a new career path in India. His last day with the Ohio State Global Gateways is October 31.
During his tenure with the India Gateway, Tambe has been instrumental in creating policies to structure and streamline the office’s operation, developing and maintaining multiple strategic partnerships with internal and external stakeholders and shepherding the formation of the India Alumni Club. The signature conferences focusing on Ohio State’s Discovery Themes flourished under his leadership as did several successful academic and research engagements. Tambe also maintained high standards of compliance on several in-country tax and legal audits to ensure the India Gateway was following all applicable laws, regulations and policies. Additionally, he guided the India team through a successful delegation visit led by former Ohio State Provost Bruce McPheron in January 2020 and since then has provided leadership through a pandemic which affected international operations significantly.
Tambe (’05 PhD), a College of Engineering alumnus in mechanical engineering, looks forward to remaining connected with the India Alumni Club’s activities.
The search for his successor is underway. In the interim, any questions on collaborations with the India Gateway can be directed to Padmini Roy-Dixon, executive director, Global Gateways and Partnerships, at roy-dixon.1@osu.edu.
