Resources for Getting Answers to Your Questions

As Ohio State transitions to resuming some in-person operations, the Office of International Affairs would like to share tips and resources to better serve international students in getting their answers more efficiently.

Review our website

Our website can provide you with immigration information, regulation updates and resources and is always available. Make sure to became familiar with our website. Some important pages to review:

Check your Ohio State email

We understand that students receive many emails, but it is the most effective way for the Office of International Affairs to send students timely information. Please do not unsubscribe from receiving our emails and make sure it does not end up in your spam folder.

Make an appointment with an immigration coordinator

Immigration coordinators at the Office of International Affairs are the only Ohio State personnel authorized to provide international students with immigration advice. No one else at the university has access to student immigration records, nor has the authority to give immigration advice. It is the student’s responsibility to know their status maintenance requirements, and, as such, students should always consult with an immigration coordinator if in doubt.

  • Virtual advising is available Monday-Friday from 1-4 p.m. via CarmenZoom—schedule an appointment  at go.osu.edu/oiaadvising
  • Call 614-292-6101 or email iss@osu.edu with questions

Download our student immigration guides

We created guides to give students an overview of how to successfully maintain their immigration status. Please note that the information is not all-inclusive and students should always consult with an immigration coordinator whenever in doubt.

Get familiar with other Ohio State offices

We understand that it takes time to understand the ins and outs of a university as large as Ohio State. There are many offices around campus ready to help students have the best experience as a Buckeye. Below are a few offices to contact with questions not related to your immigration status.
