Ann O’Connell, professor in the College of Education and Human Ecology (EHE), with colleagues from EHE and the College of Social Work, and from Ohio University, was awarded a Methods Training Grant from the Institute for Education Sciences (IES) totaling $775,817.
The training program will help build the capacity of higher-education faculty, education researchers and staff of local and state education agencies to effectively use evidence-based interventions to improve student and school outcomes. The program will train the participants in evaluation methods that are centered around the cycle of continuous improvement.
The training will involve a summer workshop coupled with academic-year coaching. District-identified interventions may be focused on academics for special populations, and/or for student wellness initiatives.
