Yoruba Club 21 donates to Owomoyela Yoruba Studies Fund

Members of the Yoruba Club 21 reaffirmed their commitment to supporting Yoruba history, language and culture study at The Ohio State University through a new donation of $5,000 to the Center for African Studies, which administers the Oyekan Owomoyela Yoruba Studies Fund. YC21 President Taiwo Osunsanyo, along with Vice President Gbenga Sholesi, General Secretary Yomi Adejobi and former president Professor Adeleke Adeeko presented the check to Fernando Unzueta, Associate Vice Provost for Global Strategies and International Affairs and Laura Joseph of the Center for African Studies.

Since 2012 the Yoruba Club 21 (YC21), a Columbus-based socio-cultural group for people of Yoruba descent, have donated a total of $25,000 to support current activities. Funds have been used to support visiting lecturers, language classes and academic scholarships.
