Help make a difference in an international student’s experience as a Buckeye!

Last year, the Office of International Affairs started the Exchange Partner Program, which pairs undergraduate degree-seeking students with incoming exchange students to help them feel at home on our campus and promote cross-cultural understanding at Ohio State.

Exchange students differ from the majority of our international students because they study at Ohio State for only a semester or one academic year and are not seeking a degree. The students enroll primarily in the College of Arts and Sciences but are majoring in a variety of disciplines. They come from many different countries including Australia, China, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the Netherlands, South Korea, Spain, Sweden and the United Kingdom.

Because their time at Ohio State is shorter, they have to quickly acclimate and learn the ropes of living in Columbus and attending the university. Being matched with a current Ohio State student is an excellent way to help their transition and give them support during their time here.

The application for the 2018-2019 academic year is now open and will close on January 31, 2018. Students interested in being part of the program should read the eligibility requirements and the full list of duties before applying.
