Starting with Reading Day on April 24, the Office of International Affairs will have spaces reserved for students who need a quite place to study throughout finals week in rooms 100 and 160.
Dates and times:

April 24 - 10 a.m. - 9 p.m.
April 25 - 4 - 9 p.m.
April 26 - 6:30 - 9 p.m.
April 27 - 4 - 9 p.m.
April 30 - 4 - 9 p.m.

On the day of Reading Day, the global engagement team will also have snacks and coffee available starting at 10 a.m. until supplies last in 160 Enarson Classroom Building. Room 100 will also be available until 9 p.m. as a designated study area for students looking for a quiet place to prepare for exams. In room 160, at 12 p.m., there will be a special activity led by Program Coordinator Dan Montour.

The Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP) recently announced that a new "SEVP Portal" will be launched on March 23, 2018 for F-1 students on OPT and STEM to self-report certain information.   
  1. If you have applied for OPT, please be aware that once your EAD card has been approved and your OPT start date has been reached, you will receive an e-mail from Do-not-reply.sevp@ice.dhs.gov with instructions on how to create your SEVP Portal account.
  2. If you are currently on OPT, you will receive an email from Do-not-reply.sevp@ice.dhs.gov on March 23, 2018 with instructions on how to create your SEVP Portal account. If your employment information has changed, you can make updates through the SEVP Portal. You will also need to complete the "OIA OPT Reporting Form" available on the OIA Website. If the changes necessitate an updated I-20, an OIA Immigration Coordinator will contact you. If your employment information has not changed, you do not need to take any further action once you have created your account.
  3. If you are currently on STEM OPT, you will need to create an account, but the information you can update will be limited. Please contact an OIA Immigration Coordinator if there is a change in your employment information.

Taste of OSU 2018 Food Winner - Russian ClubWinners of the food competition, cultural exhibits and food tickets sold for Taste of OSU 2018 are announced.

Taste of OSU is an evening filled with performances on stage, cultural exhibits and food from around the world provided by more than 30 different international and ethnic student organizations on campus. More than 4,000 students, faculty and staff attended this year's Taste of OSU, which was held on Friday, February 16 from 5 - 8:30 p.m. in the Ohio Union.

Taste of OSU is an Ohio State signature event hosted by the Office of International Affairs, along with more than 40 Ohio State student organizations and Student Life’s Dining Services chefs, who come together to prepare an evening of international food, exhibits and cultural performances. This year, Taste of OSU will take place on February 16 from 5 – 8:30 p.m. in the Ohio Union.

Students participating in the event will showcase and embrace flavors and characteristics of their home countries represented by their organization.

Entry to the event is free! Tickets to purchase small samplings of international foods will cost only $1 each. Food tickets will be on sale on the day of the event (cash or BuckID) and will also be available for pre-sale starting on Monday, February 12, 7 a.m. at the front desk in the Ohio Union (BuckID only).

The Office of International Affairs is now accepting applications for orientation leaders – a diverse group of students who welcome new international students to Ohio State and the city of Columbus.

Students who apply must be available to work 36-38 hours per week from Monday, July 23 - Sunday, August 19.

Orientation leaders will be responsible for leading group activities, including shopping trips, group meals, sporting events and game nights, while also helping at orientation events including the International Student Resource Fair, campus tours and greeting students at orientation sessions.
