The Ohio State University is ranked in the top 10 nationally among doctoral institutions for the number of students studying abroad and is in the top 20 for its international student enrollment, according to a national report released today.

Ohio State ranks 8th among the nation’s colleges and universities with 2,603 students studying abroad in 2014-15, a 2 percent increase over the previous year. Ohio State ranks 3rd in the nation for the number of students participating in short-term programs with 2,461 studying abroad for one to eight weeks during the academic year. Ohio State ranks 18th in the nation with 7,117* international students enrolled in 2015 matching similar enrollment the previous year.

These findings were issued as part of the 2016 Open Doors Report, an annual survey published by the Institute of International Education in partnership with the U.S. Department of State's Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs. To view the complete report, visit IIEOpenDoors2016.

A judging panel has selected 40 images for the 2016 International Photography Exhibition. View the exhibition via our Facebook Album and vote for your favorites by “liking” the images. The photo with the most likes in each category by Sunday, November 13 at 12 midnight EST will be the People’s Choice Award winners.

The 2016 International Photography Exhibition will be on display on the first floor of the Ohio Union outside of the Great Hall Meeting Room through the end of December. A special reception to honor all photographers who participated in the competition and to reveal our first, second and third place winners in each category as well as an overall “Best in Show” will be held at the Ohio Union in November.

This year’s competition had over 750 submissions from over 60 different countries in the categories of People, Places and Cultural Exchange. “Social Sips” is an opportunity to bring campus face to face. The concept is simple: show up and grab a coffee, cider or hot chocolate, find a partner and talk for five minutes. The English Conversation Program is partnering with Crimson Cup to host “Social Sips” on Tuesday, November 15, from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. outside of Enarson Classroom Building.

Taste of OSU is an Ohio State signature event that provides international student organizations the opportunity to showcase their diverse food and culture to thousands of students, faculty, staff and community members that attend each year. This year the event will take place on February 17, 2017 from 5 - 9 p.m. at the Ohio Union.

Ohio State international organizations can now apply to participate in the following categories: preparing and serving international dishes, displaying cultural booths, performing interactive activities or performing on stage. Those looking to apply should read all guidelines carefully.
