  • In accordance with a mutual desire to promote collaboration for the purposes of educational and cultural exchange in higher education between the European Space Agency (ESA) an international government organization with its headquarters in Paris, France, and The Ohio State University, Columbus, Ohio, USA, the two institutions have found it mutually beneficial to initiate the activities listed below.
  • For The Ohio State University, activities will be performed within The Ohio State University’s College of Engineering and John Glenn College of Public Affairs.
  1. Exchange of theses, teaching materials, and other scientific and technological literature;
  2. Research collaborations in the areas of space-related disciplines, engineering, science, law and policy, and other areas relevant to The Ohio State University’s interdisciplinary and articulated “Discovery Themes”
  3. Exchange of faculty or staff, fellows or scholars for lecturing, advanced studies, and research;
  4. Conduct joint workshops, symposia, etc. on topics of mutual interest, and
  5. Exploration of potential student or fellow exchanges

Duration of the Agreement

  • This collaboration will be undertaken for a period of five (5) years from the signature date appearing below. It will be in force from 27 September 2016 to 27 September 2021. It may be renewed for additional five (5) years if both institutions, acting independently, agree in writing to renew it at least six (6) months before it expires.
