Memorandum of Understanding Between The Ohio State University, Columbus, Ohio, U.S.A. and University of Science and Technology of China (USTC), Hefei, P.R.C

Purpose/Objective

  • In accordance with a mutual desire to promote further cooperation in higher education between University of Science and Technology of China (USTC), Hefei, P.R.C, and The Ohio State University on behalf of its College of Engineering, Columbus, Ohio (USA), the mentioned institutions have found it mutually beneficial to initiate a series of cooperative activities that may include:
  1. Exchange of theses, teaching materials, and other scientific and technological literature.
  2. Creation of a Summer Program that allows the undergraduate student of each Party to stay in Host Institution during summer session. The Summer Program and any Student Exchanges will be formalized through separate written agreements.
  3. Exchange of faculty, scholars, and students for lecturing and advancing studies

 

Duration of the agreement

  • This MOU shall take effect from the date of last signature hereto and shall be valid for five (5) years. It will be in force from 9 December 2015 to 9 December 2020. It may be renewed for additional five (5) years if both institutions, acting independently, agree in writing to renew it at least six (6) months before it expires. It may be terminated by either party by giving three months’ notice in writing of its desire to do so to the other Party, subject to the proviso that any ongoing projects under the MOU will be allowed to continue to their conclusion.
