  • In accordance with a mutual desire to promote further cooperation in higher education between College of Physical Education, Yangtze University, Jingzhou, China, and The Ohio State University on behalf of its Department of Human Sciences in the College of Education and Human Ecology, Columbus, Ohio (USA), the mentioned institutions have found it mutually beneficial to collaborate on research projects and explore other academic program opportunities. Parties agree to jointly work on the following areas of cooperation and exchange:
  1. Explore the development and implementation of a Summer Training Institute between two universities to be held at either OSU or Yangtze University aiming to bring together expertise from the partner institutions to benefit both universities’ students and faculty as well as educational and sport professionals working in a range of international settings including schools and sport agencies;
  2. Explore the feasibility of faculty exchange programs (such as Visiting Scholar status at the institutions), undergraduate and graduate study abroad opportunities, dual degree programs at the Bachelor’s and Master’s level;
  3. Seek out opportunities for faculty and graduate students to engage in collaborative research and professional development activities;
  4. Commit to exchange of information, publications and materials for academic purposes, conduct other mutually consented to activities under this agreement.


This agreement is to be governed by and construed in accordance with Ohio law. Any action based in whole or in part on this Agreement must be brought in a state or federal court of competent jurisdiction within Ohio.


Duration of the agreement

  • This MOU shall take effect immediately upon being signed by the official representatives of both universities and shall be valid for five (5) years. It will be in force from 1 July 2015 to 1 July 2020. It may be renewed for additional period of time if both institutions, acting independently, agree in writing to renew it prior to expiration date.
