Memorandum of Understanding Between The Ohio State University, Columbus, Ohio, U.S.A. and IAU College, Aix-en-Provence, France

Purpose/Objective

  • In accordance with a mutual desire to promote further cooperation in higher education between IAU College, Aix-en-Provence, France, and The Ohio State University on behalf of its Department of French and Italian in the College of Arts and Sciences, Columbus, Ohio (USA), the mentioned institutions have entered into a formal agreement for the purpose of educational and cultural exchange and intend to initiate a series of cooperative activities that may include:
  1. Establish programs enabling interested and qualified students to pursue short-term or extended study programs at IAU College;
  2. Establish programs enabling interested and qualified college or university personnel faculty to pursue short-term or extended research programs at IAU College;
  3. Consider possible scholarships and assistance for participants on an individual basis;
  4. Facilitate the development of customized programs led by authorized OSU faculty on IAU College campuses;
  5. Inform students and faculty of the academic programs, collaborative research opportunities and educational resources at both institutions; investigate other areas of possible interest and collaboration.
  • The scope of activities shall be determined by funds regularly available at both institutions for each type of collaboration and by other alternative funding obtained by either institution. Program specific details are to be outlined in corresponding separate addendums to this MOU.

 

Duration of the agreement

  • This MOU shall take effect from the date of last signature hereto and shall be valid for three (3) years or until it is terminated by either institution. It will be in force from 8 October 2015 to 8 October 2018. Either institution may terminate this agreement by giving the other party at least six (6) months’ notice of their intention to terminate. Termination shall be without penalty. Renewal of MOU should be determined upon a review conducted after the second year of the agreement.
