  • This Memorandum of Understanding is hereby entered into by and between The Ohio State University on behalf of its Department of African American and African Studies in the College of Arts and Sciences (hereinafter, OSU/AAAS) and the Cuban Institute for Cultural Research Juan Marinello (hereinafter, ICICJM).
  • The purposes of this general agreement Include, but are not limited to the following:
  1. Development of joint academic research projects.
  2. Organization of joint academic and scientific activities such as courses, conferences, seminars, symposia, and lectures.
  3. Exchange of teaching and research personnel.
  4. Exchange of students.
  5. Exchange of publications and other materials of common interest.


Duration of the agreement

  • This MOU shall take effect from the date of signature by both parties. It will be in force from 23 March 2015 to 23 March 2020. It will be in effect for a period of five (5) years from the date of execution and may be renewed for additional five (5) year periods by the parties if both institutions, acting independently, agree in writing to renew it at least six (6) months before it expires. It may be terminated by either party by giving 90 days’ notice in writing of its desire to do so to the other Party, subject to the proviso that any ongoing projects under the MOU will be allowed to continue to their conclusion.
