Purpose/Objective

  • The purpose of this agreement is to provide the opportunity to student of La Facultad Libre de Derecho to enroll as full time students at The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law Master of laws (LL.M.) Program (hereinafter “3+1 LLM Program”) after completion of three years of their four and a half year undergraduate study of law program at La Facultad Libre de Derecho.

 

Program Implementation

  1. The Ohio State University will admit to its LLm Program up to eight (8) undergraduate law students who have completed the first six semesters of an undergraduate law degree program at La Facultad Libre de Derecho. Additional students may be admitted at the discretion of The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law.
  2. Prospective students will be screened and pre-selected by La Facultad Libre de Derecho. Application forms shall be made available to La Facultad Libre de Derecho upon request by The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law and shall be submitted either in hard copy by mail or electronically by email. The deadline for receipt of applications and all supporting documentation shall be March 15.
  3. La Facultad Libre de Derecho will award credit to students towards their home program of study in respect of courses successfully completed at The Ohio State University. After completion of their LLM program at The Ohio State University, La Facultad Libre de Derecho students must complete their ninth semester of the law program at Facultad Libre de Derecho.

 

Duration of the agreement

  • This Agreement will come into force upon signatures by authorized representatives of both parties. The agreement will continue for an initial period of (3) three years as of August 2015 until August 2018. The agreement may be renewed for further cohorts if both institutions, acting independently, agree in writing to renew it at least six (6) months before it expires. Either party may terminate this agreement by giving written notice to the other. Such termination will be effective 6 months from the date of written notice.
