MIQ FCOBThe Fisher College of Business Center for Operational Excellence signed a Memorandum of Understanding – its first with an industry partner in India – with the Mahindra Institute of Quality on April 2. Aravind Chandrasekaran, associate professor, and Peter Ward, professor, at Fisher, and Manoj Garai, business development manager at the India Gateway, were instrumental in solidifying the partnership.

DianaBigTenAdmissions webDiana Azaryan, international undergraduate admissions counselor at Ohio State, traveled to Delhi and Mumbai along with other Big Ten institutions to meet with admitted students for autumn 2019 and prospective students for autumn 2020. Azaryan, along with her Big Ten peers, hosted an event for international school counselors to discuss application procedures for institutions in the United States. While in Mumbai, Vinod Rani, the India Gateway alumni relations specialist, accompanied Azaryan to high school visits and an event specifically for autumn 2019 admitted students and their families.

IndrayanAbhaya Indrayan completed his PhD in biostatistics at Ohio State in 1977 and was a visiting professor from 1983 - 1984. Indrayan associates his successful career to the problem-based learning in the statistics lab and the teaching of Douglas Wolfe and Ransom Whitney, his favorite professors. As a student, Indrayan’s favorite place on campus was the Oval.

Indrayan, now living in Noida, is a specialist in biostatistics research in health and medicine and is the only biostatistician to be elected as a Fellow of Indian Academy of Sciences. He has written over 200 publications and books including The Concise Encyclopedia of Biostatistics for Medical Professionals.
