Harsh Vinayak, based in Gurugram, has navigated an interesting career path beginning in aerospace research and engineering that has transitioned to data analytics and information technology services for health care and finance companies.

Vinayak completed his master’s in 1991 and doctorate in 1995 in mechanical engineering where he worked on the Department of Defense and Sikorsky Aircraft funded programs at the Gear Lab. Vinayak started his industrial work career in Ohio with Goodrich Aerospace and later moved to Sikorsky Aircraft in Stratford, Connecticut where he held multiple positions with increasing responsibilities culminating a decade in aerospace engineering and research.

Nirmal Sinha, Indian-American community member and strong supporter of initiatives in India, visited the A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Center for STEM Education and Research and learned about current projects. Sinha met with two graduates of the center, Sabiha Parveen and Swaleha Naseem, who are now faculty at Aligarh Muslim University. Tauheed Ahmad, center director, presented a number of ideas they envision the center can develop including digital e-learning technologies to reach large numbers of students.
