Continuing Medical Education Program Group Photo

Ohio State and P.D. Hinduja Hospital and Research Centre partnered to organize a continuing education medical program on renal pathology. Anjali Satoskar, associate professor in the Department of Pathology in the College of Medicine, teamed up with Hinduja’s Chitra Madiwale, MD, a consultant histopathologist and Jatin Kothari, MD, a consultant nephrologist and transplant physician, to collaborate on the planning. ‘Kidney Biopsy: An Update’ was held on March 23-24 in Mumbai.

Fisher’s Global Business Association (GBA) held its first Global Applied Projects (GAP) Summit on March 29 at Gerlach Hall. The GAP program is arguably the largest contingency of MBA students in the State of Ohio that engage internationally on consulting projects. In May 2019, 71 MBA students will travel to eight countries including all three Global Gateway locations. They will engage in projects involving biofuel proof-of-concept in Brazil, regional economic development in China and defense research in India, to name a few.

BusinessPanel webThe Global Gateways teamed up to host a panel discussion on “Doing Business in Emerging Countries” at the Columbus campus on March 20. Centered around how multinationals, entrepreneurs and investors can go about identifying opportunities and responding to new challenges while conducting business in emerging markets, the panelists outlined the unique challenges and approaches to business in emerging markets stemming from their own professional experiences while working in China, India and Brazil. The dialogue enabled engaging students and faculty on approaches to develop cross-cultural strategies when partnering with international stakeholders, navigating government relations, identifying local opportunities and addressing risks.
