MIT is among the top engineering colleges in India. Outlook Magazine ranked MIT Pune as first in Maharashtra and eleventh among the finest private engineering colleges in India.

MIT Pune created a separate division for Industry Academia Collaborations to encourage innovation and research among students and faculty. In this division, 20 Fortune 500 companies have collaborated with MIT to offer live, high-tech projects and impactful, practical orientation to the students. MIT also has an Innovation Centre established by world-class companies such as Amdocs, IBM, M&M and NVidia that have made centres of excellence on campus.

Collaboration between premier institutes like Ohio State and MIT hopes to bring fruitful research partnership and better co‐development and co‐production of the Operational Excellence program for the Indian market.
