Undergraduate Student Grants and Scholarships

Francille M. Firebaugh Study Abroad Scholarship

Criteria

Scholarships will be awarded to full-time undergraduate students attending The Ohio State University in a degree-granting program. Criteria for consideration include:

  • Having a minimum overall GPA of 3.5 and rank two (standing) at time of application
  • Active application to an Ohio State approved summer 2018, autumn semester 2018 or academic year 2018-2019 study abroad program. (Short-term programs that occur during breaks are not eligible for this scholarship)
  • Preference will be given to applicants pursuing a degree (major or minor) in international studies
  • Preference will be given to applicants who have not received another major study abroad scholarship (e.g. Wolfe Scholarship) from the Office of International Affairs.

Scholarship Amount

  • Funds permitting, four (4) awards of approximately $1,000 each will be distributed to awardees participating in programming that meets the above mentioned criteria. 

Application Process and Requirements

Information regarding the 2018-2019 Francille M. Firebaugh Study Abroad Scholarship will be made available at a later date.

Late applications, incomplete applications, applications submitted incorrectly and/or applications that do not meet the stated criteria will not be considered.

Selection and Notification

Scholarship award notifications will be sent electronically approximately one month after the application deadline. Scholarship funds will post to the awardee’s Statement of Account with the Ohio State Office of the Bursar during the first term of the study abroad program.
