2010-2011 Grant and Scholarship Recipients

Gateway Study Abroad Seed Grant

The Offices of Research, Undergraduate Education, and International Affairs have awarded grants to develop study abroad programs in the Gateway countries of Hungary, Greece, Mexico, and Ugandal. Four new study abroad program proposals designed for undergraduates of any major were awarded $15,240 grants (one per country) in the Spring 2011 competition. Grants were awarded to Jessie Labov, Slavic and East European Languages and Literatures, for a program in Hungary, Steven Joyce, Germanic Languages and Literatures, for a program in Greece, Ignacio Corona, Spanish & Portuguese, to a program in Mexico, and to Kelechi Kalu, African American and African Studies, for a program in Uganda.

Hungary

Greece

  • Steven Joyce, Germanic Languages and Literatures, Mansfield Campus
    "Introduction to the Western Tradition:  Summer Study Abroad at the Ionian University of Corfu"

    "Globalization in the Mayan Country"

Uganda
