Fulbright-Hays Faculty Research Abroad Grant

USA Department of Education One faculty member from The Ohio State University has been awarded the prestigious Fulbright-Hays grant by the U.S. Department of Education. Phil Brown, an associate professor in the History Department and expert in Early Modern Japanese History, is the recipient of the Fulbright-Hays Faculty Research Abroad grant. Brown is the first Ohio State faculty member to receive this highly competitive Fulbright-Hays grant since 2000. There are  approximately 25 faculty awards given annually nationwide.

The program, administered by the U.S. Department of Education, is distinct from the Fulbright programs administered by the U.S. Department of State. Fulbright-Hays support the internationalization of the country’s educational infrastructure by strengthening and training area and foreign language expertise.
