Spring graduation celebrated by international students

International students from 13 countries gathered in the Cartoon Room of the Ohio Union on Friday, May 3, 2013 to celebrate their graduation from The Ohio State University. The reception was hosted by the Office of International Affairs and The Ohio State University Alumni Association, and celebrated graduates from Bangladesh, Bolivia, China, Finland, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Romania, South Korea, Spain, Taiwan, Thailand and Turkey.

Kelechi Kalu, associate provost for global strategies and international affairs, and Gifty Ako-Adounvo, director of International Students and Scholars in the Office of International Affairs, congratulated all the graduates on earning degrees from Ohio State. Kimberly Lowe shared information about the benefits of staying connected through The Ohio State University Alumni Association. Each graduating student was introduced by name, called forward to be recognized and presented with an Ohio State global lapel pin in honor of their accomplishment. The graduates each reflected briefly about their time at Ohio State.
