Graduation celebration for international students

International students from 11 countries gathered in the Barbie Tootle Room of the Ohio Union on Friday, March 18, 2011 to celebrate their graduation from The Ohio State University. The reception was hosted by the Office of International Affairs and The Ohio State University Alumni Association.

Dieter Wanner, associate provost for global strategies and international affairs, and Gifty Ako-Adounvo, director of International Students and Scholars in the Office of International Affairs, congratulated all the graduates and Kimberly Lowe shared information about the benefits of staying connected through The Ohio State University Alumni Association. Each graduating student was introduced by name, called forward to be recognized and presented with an Ohio State global lapel pin in honor of their accomplishment. The graduates each reflected briefly about their time at Ohio State. Graduates at the ceremony came from: China, Egypt, Ghana, India, Italy, Jamaica, Mexico, Norway, South Korea, Taiwan and Turkey.
