Fulbright and Fulbright-Hays Reception

Dianne Morrison-Beedy Reflects on Three Fulbright Experiences

Dianna Morrison-Beedy"The absolute passion I have now for developing global partnerships, for building real, tangible relationships with people from around the world, and then passing this love onto my colleagues and students – this is the real gift of The Fulbright Program award," reflects Dianne Morrison-Beedy, Centennial Professor of Nursing and Chief Talent & Global Strategy Officer, in The Ohio State University College of Nursing.

In this video, Morrison-Beedy reflects on the impact of her three Fulbright experiences, an Administrator award to France and Germany in 2014, a Fulbright Scholar award to Scotland in 2016 and a Fulbright Specialist award to Norway in 2019, this video.

"There are many ways to approach challenges in this world and these Fulbright awards provided me the opportunity to engage with and integrate the perspectives of others outside my usual sphere of contact," states Morrison-Beedy. "You can transform your classroom, your research, your business or practice by making the “foreign familiar” - by exposing yourself to strange or unfamiliar experiences you can make them, not only recognizable in your world view, but integrated into it. This is the transformational power of a Fulbright making people out of nations."
