Fulbright and Fulbright-Hays Reception

Fulbright and Fulbright-Hays recipients recognized at 6th Annual Reception

Fulbright ReceptionPresident E. Gordon Gee recognized students and faculty members from The Ohio State University who are recent Fulbright and Fulbright-Hays recipients during a reception in the Campus Reading Room of the Thompson Library on April 10, 2012.

The reception took place during the 3rd Annual Fulbright Week at Ohio State. The Graduate School, the Undergraduate Fellowship Office and the Office of International Affairs combined their efforts to plan a week full of events acknowledging past recipients, hosting workshops, information sessions and open houses, designed to inform potential faculty, undergraduate and graduate student applicants about the opportunities available through the Fulbright and Fulbright-Hays programs during the week of April 9 - 13, 2012.

Dieter Wanner, associate provost for global strategies and international affairs, congratulated the honorees on their accomplishments and wished them well in their future academic endeavors. The event featured reflections by Dana Christine Kuchem and Melissa Pizzaro Aguilar. Kuchem, a scholarship manager in the Undergraduate Fellowship Office, spoke about her experience as a recipient of the Fulbright International Education Administrators Program in Germany. Aguilar, a Foreign Fulbright Fellow from Costa Rica, discussed her experience as an international student pursuing her master's degree in the Department of Integrated Systems Engineering.
