Fulbright and Fulbright-Hays recipients recognized at 5th Annual Reception

Fulbright-Hays RecipientsPresident E. Gordon Gee recognized students and faculty members from The Ohio State University who are recent Fulbright and Fulbright-Hays recipients during a reception in the UAFYE Events Suite at the Ohio Union on May 19, 2011.

The reception took place during the 2nd Annual Fulbright Week at Ohio State. The Graduate School, the Honors Collegium and the Office of International Affairs combined their efforts to plan a week full of events acknowledging past recipients, hosting workshops, information sessions and open houses, designed to inform potential faculty, undergraduate and graduate student applicants about the opportunities available through the Fulbright and Fulbright-Hays programs during the week of May 16 - 20, 2011.

William Brustein, vice provost for global strategies and international affairs, congratulated the honorees on their accomplishments and wished them well in their future academic endeavors. The event featured a Fulbright and Fulbright-Hays Reflections video with Ohio State faculty member Amy Jill Cohen and students Adrienne Strong and Matthew Curtis who have received Fulbright or Fulbright-Hays fellowships to go abroad, as well as the reflections of international scholar Alexander Kotsev who came to The Ohio State University on a Fulbright grant from Bulgaria.
