On the Global May Germany program, Students will explore and experience Berlin by learning about the people, cultures, institutions and historical events that have helped shape the city - from its establishment as a capital of the Kingdom of Prussia in the 18th century to its present role as an increasingly international capital of a reunified Germany and an important center of European and world politics. Guided visits to crucial sites of Berlin’s and Germany’s history will include Frederick II’s garden palace Sanssouci, the former concentration camp Sachsenhausen, an underground bunker from WWII and the Berlin Wall Museum
